Globe and PLDT to Drop Interconnection Fees

Diffidently a good news for Globe and PLDT subscribers as the two telecommunication giants opted to cut interconnection fees to take effect by early next year 2017.

Globe telecom and PLDT Inc. expected to sign a deal to lower their interconnection fees on Monday and will be witness by the Department of Information and Communications Technology and National Telecommunications Commission officials.

Currently, it will cost subscribers P4 PER minute on mobile to mobile and landline to mobile calls, while mobile to landline calls will cost subscribers P3 per minute.

It was previously announced by President Rodrigo Duterte after his trip in Peru for APEC, that he will open up the telecommunications and energy sectors to new investors and foreign business in order to boost Philippine's economic growth.

However, it was also stated by the president that if the current telecommunication companies will vow to improve their services and lower the fees he will take back his word.
