24: Legacy

Restoring "24" with another, more youthful legend was a smart guy on paper. Yet, it's on paper - as far as the composition - where the thought separates, yielding crazy and stereotypical plot turns even by the show's frantic ongoing gauges.

“24: Legacy” takes all those fundamentals and perform them with rote diligence, without adding anything in the way of inspiration or significance (unless you count the occasional appearance of drones). Many of the features added or changed in this incarnation of the franchise are forgettable at best and questionable at worst. All in all, this generally clunky reboot serves as reminder of just how much “24” owes the gravelly voice and dependable charisma of Kiefer Sutherland, who serves as an executive producer but does not star.

Corey Hawkins, who controls over the lead, is splendidly fine, yet even his Eric Carter - a previous Army officer push into a crazy psychological oppression plot - can't spare "24: Legacy" inventively. Industrially could be another matter, with Fox to dispatch the show behind the year's greatest yearly feature, the Super Bowl.

Carter is a former Army ranger, living in secrecy since his team carried out a highly classified mission to eradicate a terrorist abroad. When his former brothers begin getting killed, he realizes their cover has been blown, triggering a breakneck race to find out what happened.
