Change has gone to the yearly Metro
Manila Film Festival. This year guarantees to serve up something different for
local moviegoers as passages featuring famous comedians Vice Ganda and Vic
Sotto have been excluded from the purported "Magic 8" for the first
time in the past few weeks.
Featuring the current year's clump of
sections is Jun Robles Lana's "Die Beautiful," which earned rave
surveys taking after its universal debut at the 2016 Tokyo International Film
Festival.
Another fascinating section is
"Saving Sally" from director Avid Liongoren. The film, which took 10
years to make, utilizes a comic-book-stylised story and carefully made visuals
to recount Marty (Enzo Marcos), an artistcomic book artist, and his endeavors
to spare the lady he adores, a splendid youthful innovator named Sally (Rhian
Ramos), from her physically oppressive parents.
Ang Babae sa Septic Tank 2: Forever is Not Enough -
A spin-off of the box-office hit
"Ang Babae sa Septic Tank," Eugene Domingo's freshest film will give
the lighthearted element to those searching for a decent giggle with their
family this Christmas season, considering the depressing and genuine tones of
some alternate movies.
Sunday Beauty Queen -
Sunday
Beauty Queen is a passage from female director Baby Ruth Villarama has been
depicted by Variety as “an engaging documentary on Filipina overseas workers'
self-empowerment through beauty pageants."
Vince & Kath & James -
The lone entry from Star Cinema, this teenager romance film,
coordinated by Ted Boborol ("Be My Lady"), is topbilled by youthful
stars, for example, Julia Barretto, Maris Racal, Joshua Garcia and Ronnie
Alonte. It is an adjustment of an online series, which turned into a web
sensation, that recounted the narrative of two lovestruck teens, Vince and
Kath, through instant messages.
Seklusyon -
Very little is thought about Erik Matti's most up to
date entry which stars Ronnie Alonte, Rhed Bustamante, Phoebe Walker, Elora
Espano, Neil Ryan Sese, Lou Veloso, Dominique Roque, John Vic De Guzman, and JR
Versales. But one can expect a well-crafted follow-up from the acclaimed
director, who stole the spotlight a year ago with "Respect Thy
Father."
Kabisera -
Similarly as with
"Seklusyon," very little is thought about Arturo San Agustin and Real
Florido's entrance too. In any case, the film, whose trailer has yet to be
discharged, marks the arrival of screen symbol Nora Aunor to the yearly film
celebration. She stars with Ricky Davao, JC De Vera, Jason Abalos, Victor Neri
and RJ Agustin
