Recently, netizens went on buzz as known Duterte supporter, blogger and sexy actress Mocha Uson debuted as a columnist for the Philippine Star. Many were protesting why Philippines Star allowed the actress to be a columnist on their newspaper though she is not even a journalist, while others gave their full support on the blogger actress.
Mocha’s followers and knowing that Mocha was a Duterte’s most vocal supporter, lots of president’s supporters praised Philippines Star for allowing Mocha to be part of them. However, there were also who criticized and bashed the decision of Philippine Star, because Uson has a predilection of made-up news and might just put the newspaper’s reputation at jeopardy.
Regina Belmonte, the owner’s eldest daughter, blogger and columnist, stated her disappointments on this event and even called Uson a “reprehensible human being” and “garbage”.
The blogger actress’ supporters defended her and told Belmonte that Philippine Star needs Uson more than Uson needs Philippine Star.
The argument whether to allow Uson or not plague the social network and the debate was put to verdict when last November 8, Uson’s first article debuted in Philippine Star under her own column HOTSPOT. And in relation to the even before her article was published in Philippine Start, she opted the title “I have right to speak”, and even defended herself for the abusive words and criticism she receives as most judged her capability as a writer.
